Samal's 25 years as a city have not always been smooth sailing. Although the city is governed by competitive and efficient city officials, notable accomplishments and developments will never be possible without dedicated collaboration with other agencies.
On March 3, 2023, at the Bridgeport Anflocor, Samal extended its sincere gratitude to the 96 national agencies during the Pasidungog Pasalamat. A plaque of appreciation was given by the city government to each of the awardees for their relentless provision that led to the fast-pacing progress of Samal.
Furthermore, Sen. Christopher "Kuya Bong" Go, one of the awardees, graced the event and congratulated both the city and awardees for the shared accomplishments. As the Committee Chair on Health, Sen. Go also accentuated his support and assistance to the health sector on the island.
City Mayor Al David T. Uy expressed gratitude to the awardees for being the support system of the city, especially during the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic that really challenged the resiliency of Samal.
"Dakong pasalamat sa local government sa Island Garden City of Samal sa atong mga national agency partners. Ang Samal sukad sauna dili na makalahutay kumbaga kung wala ang tabang sa atong mga national government agencies, maglisud gyud. Kinahanglan gyud tabangan sa national government agencies," Mayor Uy added.
With common interests and goals of giving the city and its people the breakthroughs and success they deserve, Samal Island will always be an Islang Maanyag! (IGACOS-CIO/NBC/RConcepcion)
