New City Hall, February 21, 2023 - One hundred forty-two beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program were in attendance for the program orientation delivered by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - IGACOS Extension Office headed by the Officer in-Charge Marlito D. Ayala with the assistance of the Public Employment Service Office headed by Ms. Emmalyn Moriones.
122 of the beneficiaries will be rendering 15 days while 20 of them will be rendering 10 days starting February 21, 2023. Moreover, they will be paid Php 443 per day and are assigned in different barangays.
In his remarks, City Administrator Nieljun Esdrelon, speaking on behalf of City Mayor Al David T. Uy, expressed gratitude to DOLE for the partnership that led to giving of opportunities to Samalenyos. “Ikalipay namo nga ang matag-usa kanato makahaw-as sa kalisud. Matag usa kanato makasinati gyud niini. Apan taliwala sa kalisud mga kaigsuonan, makalingkawas ta dira kuyog nato ang kasinatian unsaon nato paghaw-as atong kaugalingon sa kalisud. Kuyog niana ang atong mapadayunon nga pag-ampo sa labaw na Makagagahum”, he added.
This batch of beneficiaries were the identified affected families and fisherfolks of the Typhoon Paeng in Brgy. Peñaplata last October 2022 who are still recovering from the destruction brought by the natural calamity. (CIO-IGACOS/Novy/photo:Channie)
