Island Garden City of Samal, December 2, 2022— One of this year's 307 Super Health Centers nationwide will be built in the Babak District Hall Compound and is expected to provide all the basic health needs and some specialized health services, including birthing services, laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound, diagnostic, out-patient departments, and many others.
Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health and is the initiator of the Super Health Center, led the groundbreaking ceremony. He said that this Super Health Center is a medium type of polyclinic and an improved version of the rural health unit.
"Pag nahimo na ni, iturn-over na ni sa Samal. Inyo na ni. Pati tong mga equipment. Magtinabangay na ta sa pag improve ani later on. As Committee Chair on Health, mutabang ko sa abot sakong makaya unsaon pa nato pag improve aning inyong Super Health Center" Sen. Go said.
He further stated that this facility will help the far-flung areas access quality healthcare without traveling to distant places for immediate aid.
Moreover, City Mayor Al David T. Uy deems the Super Health Center very important, as it will serve as a primary health care facility in the city. He also expressed gratitude to Sen. Go, Congressman Alan R. Dujali, and Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang for pursuing the facility and even for the other assistance given.
