Through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, ten (10) households and the families of late Rolex Cambalon and Jelly P. Omas-as, victims of the vehicular accident in Barangay Cawag, received cash assistance, grocery packages, vitamins, meals, shirts, and other basic needs today, July 28, 2022, at City Hall.
Senator Go expressed his concern for the families whose houses were damaged and those who died in the incident. He also assured them of the help that he is willing to give, not just in the restart but also in the health conditions that needed immediate attention.
"Musulti lang pud mo kung naa moy problema o kinahanglanon, ayaw mog kaulaw duol sa amoa, kay Mayor, Vice Mayor, ug mga konsehal, maninangkamot lang mi ug tabang para sa inyo," said Sen. Go.
Furthermore, the National Housing Authority, through the Emergency Housing Assistance Program, committed to providing cash assistance needed for the rebuilding of the houses, depending on the extent of damage.
Mrs. Hepolita Almendras, one of the victims, despite the incident encountered that resulted in the loss of their house, is still thankful that her family, as well as others, did not suffer severe injuries. She extended her gratitude to the people that helped them evacuate.
"Blessing jud sila para sa amoa kay naa silay tabang sa amoa unya naay pagmalasakit sa mga kabus parehas sa amoa… ang local government pud kay bisan sa katung pag evacuate na, ang mga local man jud ang maoy nagpakuan sa amoa, ang mga tao sa barangay, sa city, ang CDRRMC na mao dayuy nagkuha sa amoa" she added.
