118 Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) grantees received 60% of their total salary amounting to P6, 564 today, June 29, 2022, at New City Hall.
It can be remembered that the program commenced last May 10, 2022 with the facilitation of Public Employment Service Office Manager Florencio "Niño" Valera, and ended last June 6, 2022. The cash that the grantees received came from the allocated fund of the local government, while 40% of the total salary will come from the Department of Labor and Employment right after the grantees can comply with the necessary requirements.
One of the grantees, Mikylla Castro, a student of Samal National High School, stated his thankfulness and appreciation to the initiation of City Mayor Al David T. Uy that helped them in a way that they could sustain their needs and for the experiences that they had gained from the twenty (20) days of working in the government offices.
"Salamat kayo sa kining program na SPES kay dako kayo nig tabang sa mga studyante, thank you pud kay sir Niño kay gipaningkamutan jud niya na maprocess dayun ang among sweldo", Ms. Castro added.
Mr. Valera also reminded the recipients to spend their money wisely and prioritize their needs at school and at home. (CIO-IGACOS/Writer:NovyCreta/Photos:ChristianJuntong/NjPadillo)
