On May 30, 2022, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI – Student Financial Assistance Programs (CHEDROXI-StuFAPs) through Samal Island City College – Scholarship Unit with the collaboration of the City Treasury’s Office held the Ceremonial Awarding of Tulong-Agri Program (TAP) Grants for First Semester of Academic Year 2021-2022, at the SICC Auditorium.
Tulong-Agri Program (TAP) is one amongst many scholarship programs offered to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) recognized by the Commission. This program prioritizes students who are enrolled in degree programs related to agriculture, fisheries, forestry, food technology and veterinary medicine, as that of the Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business offered in SICC. Samal Island City College has listed sixteen (16) student grantees for the first semester of academic year 2021-2022 and most of them are members of families whose source of living depends on farming and other agricultural enterprises. These grantees are entitled to receive a total amount of Twenty-Seven Thousand Pesos (Php27,000.00) per Academic Year. As stipulated in CHED Memorandum Order No. 24 series of 2021, this amount is intended for book allowance and other educational expenses.
