The local government of IGACOS aims to bring basic services closer to the people of the island, and Serbisyo Para sa Katawhan has been the initiative of the government to realize the goal.
Today, April 12, 2022, the Community Affairs Division led the first day of "Serbisyo Para sa Katawhan" in Brgy. Aundanao, Samal District. Various offices participated in the activity, such as the City Health Office, which offered free circumcision, the City Veterinary Office, which gave free vitamins, deworming, and antibiotics for livestock, and the City Agriculture Office, which provided seedlings of batong, petchay, upo, pipino, okra, and talong.
In terms of permits, the City Engineer’s Office assisted in acquiring building and fencing permits together with the City Planning and Development Office, which helped regarding the requirements for the said permits.
The City Social and Welfare Development Office distributed medicine and grocery purchase booklets for the senior citizens, while the Public Employment and Services Office provided list of local and international job vacancies and answered queries regarding the city scholarship program for incoming first-year college students.
Moreover, the City Assessor’s Office helped with the transfer of land title, the assessment of land and buildings, and the requirements of transfer tax declaration of title; the City Environment and Natural Resources Office handed over mangroves; the Business Regulation Division assisted with business licensing and motorcycle franchising; the City Civil Registrar’s Office accommodated queries for the registration and request of PSA copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates, as well as the petition for correction of documents, affidavit of legitimation, and late registration; the City Legal office willingly provided advice for any kind of dispute, including criminal, civil, and special proceedings; and the Sports Division prepared to help with referee’s clinic, sports clinic and request for sports equipment.
