Spearheaded by the Samal Island Sectoral Council of Women (SISCOW) Chairperson, Ms. Carmeglynn L. Uy, duly represented by Community Affairs Officer IV, Ms. Mabel S Deniega, under the facilitation of Women program In-Charge Ms. Emmalyn H. Moriones and with the cooperation of the City Mayor's Office, the culmination Day with the theme, "Agenda ng kababaihan tungo sa Kaunlaran" was successfully celebrated and the hotline number of the Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) was finally launched today, March 30, 2022 at the SICC Gym.
Hoffen Clinic-Center for Mental Health Adventist Hospital Davao Program head, Christopher S. Del Monte, CHA, PhD imparted nuggets of wisdom from his topic, COVID-19 and Women's Mental Health: The Impact on Wellbeing, Disparities, and future Implications. He emphasized the vitality for every women to value and care for their well-being, “Kinahanglan naa gyud mo’y mabilin sa inyong kaugalingon in order for you to give more” he said.
Besides from the inspirational messages, practical discussion and festive activities which includes live musical band and dance performance from the Kalingaw-Uy dancers, the winners from the conducted Zumba contest were announced. Out of 15 contenders, Brgy. Del Monte placed 3rd and took home 5000 pesos cash, Brgy. Libertad landed on second place and bagged 8,000 pesos cash, Brgy. San Antonio placed 1st and took home 10,000 pesos cash, securing the victory, Brgy. Mambago-A championed the contest and brought home with them a cash prize of 15,000 pesos.
