Mayor Al David T. Uy invested into the City's first solar energy project with the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and JINYI Holdings Group Corp. to establish mutual economic development in the City by providing reliable power energy. The Signing Ceremony was conducted on November 5, 2023 at Discovery Samal, Brgy. Limao, Babak District, IGaCoS.

Mr. Zheng Haicun, President of the SPIC Shandong Corporation expressed his commitment and support to Mayor Uy's vision of providing reliable power guarantee to the Samaleños and develop green energy solutions, thus will boost prosperity and development in the City. State Power Investment Group is the world's largest photovoltaic investor and clean energy power generation enterprises. It takes the mission of "creating green values", with "green, innovation, integration, true faith, truth, and true success" as its core values, and is vigorously implementing the "2035 first -class strategy"; the world's first -class clean energy company.

"I believe that this project will bring convenience in electricity to the people of Samal Island and will certainly benefit them... we are fully committed to coordinating the best resources, assisting the SPIC to build and operate it well," Mr. Jacky Fong of JINYI Holdings Group stated.

Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Secretary Tereso Magno represented by Atty. Rommel Jay Ugay and LTGEN Greg Almerol of Eastern Mindanao Command also expressed their full support in implementing protective measures to make this project come into reality.
