City Mayor Hon. Al David T. Uy and Dr. Jose Ersante "tata" Fuertes, Samal Island City College-President, led the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new building of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology today, August 14, 2023, at the SICC Compound.
Dr. Fuertes expressed his gratitude to the Local government unit spearheaded by Mayor Al David T. Uy, and the 9th City Council for their never-ending support. He also extended his appreciation to the Board of Trustees, Local finance, and department managers.
The blessing of the new building includes, Five (5) Classrooms, Laboratories ; Defense tactic room, Forensic chemistry room, Forensic ballistic room, Observation room, Polygraphy room, Interrogation room, Forensic Photography room, Crime Scene room, and Dactyloscopy and Questioned document room and school equipment.
Mayor Uy acknowledged the efforts and hard work of all individuals involved in the making of the project. "Dako kaayo akong pasalamat na nakita nato karon ang gihaguan, preparation, tanan na gihimo sa leaders kay makita na nato ang bunga. Ipadayun nato para mas ma improve pa nato atong local college. Thanks sad sa CHED sa supportang gihatag sa local college." He further stated that he planned on adding new courses. "Rest assured na mag padayun ang supporta sa local government..soon we will be adding new courses, hopefully the college of nursing, and of course, naay plano karon, we will be establishing a technical book, vocational courses," he added.
Also present in the ceremony were Vice Mayor Lemuel T. Reyes, City Councilors, Hon. Renz Lacorte, Hon. Marife Bantillo, Hon. Ginaphine Cañete, department managers, and SICC faculty and staff. (CIO-IGACOS/RConcepcion)
