The Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (P.R.A.I.S.E.) committee, implemented by the City Human Resources and Management office, granted a Service Ring Award to the 25 former employees and elected officials of the Local Government Unit of the Island Garden City of Samal on May 12, 2023, at the Camp Holiday Resort, Babak district.
City Mayor Al David T. Uy expressed his deep felt gratitude to the former public servants who have dedicated their years of prime to render selfless service to all Samaleṅos. He also gratified their families who have shouldered a fair share of sacrifices. “In behalf sa Local Government Unit sa Island Garden City of Samal, ang amuang gadakong pasalamat sa atuang mga gihatagan og pasidungog, atong mga honoris karung hapona sa tanan tanan- sa inyung serbisyo, sakripisyo, nga gihatag gayod sa katawhan sa Island Garden City of Samal. Daghan kaayung salamat. From the bottom of my heart, daghan kaayung salamat” the City Mayor said.
City Vice Mayor Lemuel ‘Toto’ Reyes, paralleled the same gratitude and acknowledge the passionate and ardent service of the honoris, “Salamat kaayu og dako sa inyung serbisyo. Sa serbisyo nga inyuhang gihatag ug kinasingksing nga pagtrabaho ug dungag kaalam para sa kalambuan sa atoang isla” the City Vice Mayor said.
Former Social Welfare and Development Officer, Ms. Abundia A. Lariosa having rendered 34 years of service reciprocated the gratitude given by the LGU. “Salamat kaayu sa opportunity og sa pag salig.. Salamat kaayu, in behalf sa 25 ka awardees karun, salamat kaayu sa LGU nga pila ka tuigan, nahinumduman jud” she said.
Pursuant to Sangguniang Panlungsod resolution no. 721 series of 2017, the service ring shall be given to a former LGU employee who has resigned or retired regardless of age. Pursuant to the aforementioned, a service ring shall be given to any official elected who have served for three consecutive terms regardless of elective position.
Also present in the event handing the service ring award were City Councilors Hon. Jed Enumerables, Hon. Renz Lacorte, Hon. Clavel Ann David, Hon. Marife Bantillo, Hon. Paul Quezada, Hon. Alfredo Esteban Jr., Executive Assistant IV, Mr. Guillermo Olden and Supervising administrative officer and OIC-CHRMO, Ms. Bernardita Bunhayag.
