DAVRAA 2024 kicks off in Davao City; IGACOS Gears Up to Paddle through Waves

The Island Garden City of Samal has made its presence felt with a total of 556 people in its delegation, during the much-anticipated Davao Regional Athletic Association (DAVRAA) meet, which has officially launched in Davao City UP sports complex.

"This regional meet is more than just a competition. It is a platform of growth and an opportunity for transformation. Over the next few days, you will discover the true meaning of competitiveness, not just against others, but against your own limitations and doubts." Department of Education Secretary, Vice President Sara Duterte, stated.

VP Sara declared that the DAVRAA 2024 with the theme "1Team, 1Dream: Shaping Filipino Sports Champions," is officially opened, fired up with her motivational speech to hype the whole Region XI, with the presence of Davao City Mayor, Sebastian Z. Duterte, duly represented by Vice Mayor, Atty. Melchor B. Quitain, Jr.

Furthermore, City Mayor Al David T. Uy led the delegation parade of the Samal Waves, along with the 9th City Council, headed by City Vice Mayor Lemuel T. Reyes, and DepEd IGaCoS, headed by Schools Division Superintendent, Nelson C. Lopez, CESO V.

Moreover, IGaCoS is represented by 330 athletes, accompanied by 88 coaches, 5 chairpersons, and 133 delegation officials who are present to support the competitors, while the other 10 delegations have a total of 2,732 athletes, 436 coaches, 91 assistant coaches, 143 chairpersons, and 1,022 delegation officials, with a total of 4,424 people.
