SAMAL SETS UP BUSINESS ONE-STOP SHOP
The Island Garden City of Samal creates an upgraded Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS)
Maximizing technology in aim to promote “no contact and paperless policy”. Speeding up the processing of business permits and licenses through the upgraded electronic Business Permits and Licensing System (eBPLS).
The registration and renewal of a business permit have been shortened into three steps. The team of signatories was all set up at Samal Multi-Purpose Gymnasium Penaplata, Samal District on January 3.
First step in the application and interview where the applicants will present all their requirements.
Step two is the Assessment and Payment. An interview will also be conducted upon the assessment for those applicants who have previous violations. The final step will be the approval and releasing of the permit.
Through the system, the clients do not need to go personally to transact and process their business permits and license as their data will appear on the computer and can also be viewed by the regulators if the application is qualified for next step or not.
“We are now practicing the ‘no contact policy and paperless’ where the presence of the client to every regulatory is not necessary anymore. Their applicant will go unless they are being called for some clarification on the previous violation. Hopefully, next year this system will be perfected, ”Ernesto Tundaan, Bureau Regulatory officer said in the vernacular.
Jay Oliverio, 30, book keeper of SRS Hardware and Realty, said the new business renewal and registration process is easier and faster compared to the previous process, revealing that he processed his permit yesterday and was approved on the same day.
The Business One-Stop Shop will be extended until January 31. However, the surcharge will take effect on the 23rd of January. A total of 2,469 new and renewal establishments were registered as of January 22.// Emma Recalde-Samal Info
