The waters are clean enough to be mistaken as a swimming pool, especially if you haven't gone to a beach in so long. Feel free to take a dip in the water: snorkel, dive, and enjoy an underwater adventure in its sparkling waters.
However, on one weekend, the only “tourists” jumping from the town’s jetty into the crystal clear waters were us locals. Just imagine: seven kilometers of white sand that flows into the sea all to our selves! The water was calm and warm, and all of the visitors were so ecstatic that we could have this beautiful beach, all to us, at least for one day.
But on the other end of the long beach are bustling signs of commerce: fishing boats that has come to dock after their early morning journey into the sea. It just goes to show that it is the combined efforts of all of the people in Talikud, from the locals, to the fishermen, to the local government, that keep the beach enticing to visitors from all over the world.
Everything is peaceful, and is perfect for a necessary respite from a week of work. So the next time you want to get away from it all and do the Talikud Island Tour, don’t forget to include the Long Beach in your itinerary.
